Tour Description
Three parks in six days is the honest case for this itinerary. The Masai Mara is Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve and it earns that reputation in every season. Lake Nakuru adds a completely different experience: a fenced alkaline lake sanctuary where rhinos walk openly on the shoreline and flamingos gather when lake conditions support them. Amboseli adds the elephant-and-Kilimanjaro combination that defines Kenya in the global imagination.
The group joining format means you share the vehicle and cost with a maximum of seven other travellers. You do not need to know anyone in advance. Bienvenido Kenya Safaris caps the vehicle at 8 guests so every seat is a window seat. The accommodation is the same quality available to private guests at the equivalent tier. The difference is cost: shared across more seats, it is significantly more affordable per person.
Budget note: The guide quality, vehicle standard, park access, and game drive structure are the same across accommodation tiers. Choosing budget over mid-range saves accommodation cost, not wildlife experience.
Tipping Guide (per person): Guide: USD 10-20/day x 5 days = approx. USD 50-100 total
Camp and lodge staff (shared): USD 5-10/day x 5 days = approx. USD 25-50 total
Suggested total tip budget per person: USD 75-150
Tips are discretionary. They are meaningful to guides and camp staff and appreciated.

Best Time to Visit
| Season | Months | Masai Mara | Lake Nakuru | Amboseli | Our Recommendation |
| Migration Peak | Jul to Oct | River crossings possible; excellent predators year-round | Rhinos and flamingos year-round | Clear Kilimanjaro mornings; big elephant herds | Peak season. High demand. Book well ahead. |
| Calving Season | Jan to Mar | Excellent predators; note: calving in southern Serengeti not the Mara itself | Good conditions throughout | Best Kilimanjaro visibility of the year | Outstanding value. Most recommended. |
| Short Rains | Nov to Dec | Green Mara; good game | Flamingo numbers often highest | Good elephant viewing | Good shoulder option. |
| Long Rains | Apr to May | Some road challenges | Generally accessible | Sometimes cloud-covered | Low season. Budget option. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this worth choosing over the 4-day Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru safari?
Yes, if Amboseli is on your list. The 6-day adds two nights in Amboseli, which delivers a completely different ecosystem from the Mara and Nakuru: swamp-fed plains, studied elephant families, and Kilimanjaro as the backdrop. If you only have four days, the Mara and Nakuru itinerary is the stronger short option. With six days, the three-park combination covers more of Kenya’s wildlife story.
Can I see the Big Five on this safari?
The conditions for all five Big Five species exist across the three parks. Lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo are highly likely in the Masai Mara. Rhinos are reliably sighted at Lake Nakuru in the protected sanctuary. No individual sighting is guaranteed, but this is one of Kenya’s strongest group joining routes for Big Five coverage.
What is the group size?

Common Safari Planning Mistakes to Avoid
Mistake 1: Not telling the guide about Kilimanjaro as a priority on Amboseli arrival
Fix: The mountain is clearest in the morning before nine o’clock. Tell your guide on day 4 arrival that Kilimanjaro positioning is a priority. They adjust the day 5 morning drive routing accordingly.
Mistake 2: Expecting flamingos to be guaranteed at Lake Nakuru
Fix: Flamingo numbers fluctuate with lake water levels and algae concentration. Your guide checks current conditions before departure. Even when flamingo numbers are low, Lake Nakuru delivers excellent rhino viewing and diverse birdlife.
Mistake 3: Planning the return day 6 as a full Nairobi activity day
Fix: The drive from Amboseli to Nairobi takes approximately four hours. Arrival is in the early afternoon. Plan any Nairobi activities for after 14:00 on day 6.
Mistake 4: Waiting to ask about the balloon safari until you are in the Mara
Fix: Hot air balloon safaris must be arranged the evening before. Capacity is limited. If this is on your list, let us know before the safari departure day.
